RUSHFORD — The State Patrol says a Minnesota man and his 3-year-old daughter are dead after a trailer came loose from a pickup track and crashed into their SUV.
The Star Tribune reports it happened around 11:40 a.m. Saturday on state Highway 16 near Rushford.
The Patrol identifies the victims as 32-year-old Jeremy M. Cox of Houston, and 3-year-old Isabel Cox. Cox’s infant son, Liam, was taken to Winona Hospital and treated for minor injuries.
A pickup truck driven by a 25-year-old woman from Adams was driving east when its trailer detached and hit the SUV. Patrol Lt. Eric Roeske tells the newspaper that investigators are trying to determine why the trailer came loose.
