Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 320 W. College St., will hold a salad, sloppy joe and bars luncheon from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday. Cost is $6 per person. There will also be a quilt raffle. Tickets are $5 for one ticket or three for $10.

Friday, May 7

The Susan DeVries and David Lenz art show will be open at the Albert Lea Art Center from noon to 4 p.m.

The Old Car Company will hold its first car cruise of the season starting at 6 p.m. in the former Buy-N-Save parking lot on South Broadway Avenue. There are no entry fees, registration or awards, just old-fashioned fun cruising Broadway. The cruise will be held rain or shine. This cruise is sponsored by Wedgewood Cove Golf Club.

Albert Lea Community Theatre will present “The Taffetas” at 7:30 p.m. at the Marion Ross Performing Arts Center, 147 N. Broadway Ave. For tickets, call 377-4371.

Saturday, May 8

Crossroads Church, 3402 Hoeger Lane, will hold a Dad’s Belgian Waffles fundraiser from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Tickets are $6 for adults and $4 for children. They are available in advance at the Albert Lea/Freeborn County Chamber of Commerce and Crossroads Church and at the door.

Albert Lea Branch 718 of the National Association of Letter Carriers, along with the rural carriers, will participate in the 18th annual food drive. The city and rural carriers will collect nonperishable food items at or by your mailbox during the normal delivery of mail. The collected food will be weighed at the post office and immediately released to the Albert Lea food shelves for distribution.

A burger basket night to benefit the Bulgaria mission team from Grace Christian Church will be held from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Albert Lea American Legion Club. Tickets are $8 per person with $3 per ticket going to the mission trip.
