United South Central girls’ golf takes second at Gopher Conference

The United South Central girls’ golf team shot 438 — six strokes back of first place — to take second place Friday at the Gopher Conference meet in Blooming Prairie.
Blooming Prairie won the event with a 432, while NRHEG finished third with a 443.
Freshman Ali Wood earned medalist honors and all-conference honors with a 93.
“She gave us a shot in the arm,” said USC girls golf coach Randy Halvorson. “She was the medalist by nine strokes.”
Along with Wood, Claire Christian also captured all-conference honors as she shot 106.
Erinn Hotzler carded a 110 to get honorable-mention honors for the Rebels.
“Really great round for her,” Halvorson said of Hotzler. “She played great.”
Veronica Schindler finished with a 129 for USC.
