The Glenville-Emmons baseball team has searched for offense for much of the season and Saturday the Wolverines got it in bunches in Austin.
Glenville-Emmons beat Mabel-Canton 16-1 in five innings to start the day and defeated Houston 13-6 later. The Wolverines (10-6, 4-2 SEC) totaled 33 hits and 29 runs in an output of offense rarely seen this season from the team.
“I think we were a little more patient, we got a little better pitches to hit,” said Glenville-Emmons head coach Louie Toulouse. “What I was pleased about was the bottom half of our order contributed.”
Eight different players got hits in both games. Zack Williamson went 4-for-4 with two RBIs against Houston while Spencer Kral went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and a solo homer.
Jon Mittag and Tyler Woodside each went 3-for-4 against Mabel-Canton. Woodsided drove in four runs and Mittag two.
