An 85-year-old woman died Wednesday evening after she was injured in a crash earlier that day at the intersection of West Clark Street and South Washington Avenue.

Albert Lea Police Lt. Jeff Strom said Majorie Oline Hoium died just before 8 p.m. Wednesday at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester from internal injuries sustained in a crash about 10 hours earlier.

Strom stated Hoium was driving northbound on Washington Avenue at about 10:12 a.m., when she failed to yield to driver Kristin Ann Larson, 27, who was going eastbound on Clark Street. At the intersection, there are stop signs on Washington Avenue but no stop signs on Clark Street.
