Brownville Village Theatre (BVT), the oldest repertory theatre in Nebraska, is launching its 44th season of repertory theater. BVT’s 2010 summer season, running June 11 through Aug. 15, includes three comedies, “Home is Where Your Clothes Are,” “Grand Prize” and “Playing Doctor.” The season also includes a thriller, “The Burning Man” and the energetic, crowd-pleasing musical, “Snoopy!!!” A company of 14 performers who act as well as carry out technical responsibilities produce all five shows in true repertory fashion. The theatre has been under the direction of Charles Harper since 2003.
Nissa Nordland of Albert Lea is returning for her fourth summer as a BVT company member. She is performing roles in “Snoopy!!!” and “Playing Doctor.” Her technical position is box office supervisor and public relations assistant manager. Nordland will also be directing her second production at BVT, “The Burning Man.”
She is the daughter of John Nordland II and Gayle Hill. Nordland is a recent graduate of Southwest Minnesota State University.
Single admission tickets are $12 for adults (tax included); and $8 for students 18 and under. Discount tickets, group rates and “dinner cruise and a show” packages are also available. All seats are reserved and advanced reservations are preferred.
