On behalf of the voters who overwhelmingly supported the Clean Water, Land and Legacy Amendment, I’d like to say thank you to Sen. Dan Sparks and Rep. Robin Brown for supporting the recommendations from the Lessard Outdoor Heritage Council. This year the recommended projects will protect 16,471 acres, enhance 42,635 acres and restore 4,709 acres. Over $59 million was appropriated to 25 programs or projects. Including shallow lakes and wetland restoration programs through Ducks Unlimited the Department of Natural Resources and the Reinvest in Minnesota Wetlands program.

Thank you also to the senator and representative for endorsing the Legislative-Citizen Commission on Minnesota Resources LCCMR proposals.

This year $26 million was approved by the legislature to fund 48 natural resource projects across Minnesota.
