David Dale Leegaard, 33, of rural Northwood, Iowa, died Wednesday, June 9, 2010, as a result of a motorcycle accident.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, June 14, 2010, at Silver Lake Lutheran Church, in rural Northwood with the Rev. Randy Baldwin officiating. Burial will take place in Silver Lake Lutheran Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2 until 5 p.m. on Sunday, June 13, 2010, at Mittelstadt Funeral Home, 902 East Main Street in Lake Mills, and will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Monday.
David Dale Leegaard was born on May 27, 1977, in Loveland, Colo., to parents Dale James and Rose (Quade) Leegaard. He attended and graduated from Northwood-Kensett High School in 1995. As an ASE Certified Master Technician, David owned and operated Central Auto Body in Lake Mills.
David would do anything to help his family and friends. He was a very loving fiancé, father, son, brother and friend who never had a problem expressing the love and adoration he felt for others. His fishing trips were priceless, he enjoyed time spent on his motorcycle, boating, and traveling abroad. He loved his fiancée Desiree dearly as well as her family.
He will be greatly missed by his fiancée Desiree Miller, his daughter, Ashley Beth Leegaard, and his parents Dale and Rosie Leegaard, all of Northwood. Also surviving are five siblings, Victoria (Tim) Earing of Ft. Collins, Colo., Randy Dale (Carla) Leegaard of Emmons, Susan Leegaard of Northwood, Rhonda Leegaard of Ft. Collins, Colo., and Dr. John Dale Leegaard of Lake Mills; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Rodney Dale Leegaard in 2002, and his grandparents.
