Errors cost Bulldogs in 9-4 loss

Lake Mills rallied with three runs in the seventh, but couldn’t overcome eight errors in a 9-4 loss to Mason City Newman.
The Bulldogs (6-8), were led by Carlie Christianson and Megan Johnson, each with two hits. Johnson led the team with two RBIs and Christianson and Brittney Neumann each added one apiece. Christianson also hit her second double of the season.
After giving up nine runs in the game’s first three innings, starting pitcher Josie Brackey went strong, striking out nine batters while walking only two.
The Bulldogs play again tonight at home against Rockford at 6 p.m.
