Memorial services for Gerald Bernard Linquist, age 60, of Albert Lea, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 29, at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home. The Rev. Daniel Baker will officiate. Gerald died on Friday, June 25, 2010, at the Albert Lea Medical Center.
Gerald Bernard Linquist was born on April 25, 1950, in Albert Lea, the son of Bernard and Marjorie (Thompson) Linquist. Gerald attended school in Albert Lea and was very proud to have attained his GED. On Aug. 9, 1999, he was united in marriage to Renita Lynn. He was employed at Godfather’s Pizza as the assistant manager. Gerald was very musically inclined and played with many bands in the area and taught guitar lessons at Tone Music and repaired instruments. He enjoyed fishing with his uncles and his father. Later in his mother’s life, Gerald was her caregiver and he felt honored to be able to do this for her.
Gerald is survived by his wife, Renita, daughter, Amy Sanches (Dale); grandchildren; Olivia, Isabelle and Ella; sister, Barb Mehrer (Harley); brother Dave Linquist (Aly); and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Sandra Peterson; brother, Randall Linquist; brother-in-law, Dick Peterson; and nephews, Troy Peterson and Tony Bergland.
