Grizzlies beat South Central 7-6

The Albert Lea Grizzlies traveled to Truman. Saturday to take on the South Central Hawgs in a battle for first place.
In a defensive struggle, the Grizzlies only points came early in the second quarter on a 20 yard pass from Tony Tolbers to Hector Rivera. Jason Kuipers kicked the extra point putting Albert Lea up 7-0.
The Hawgs answered in the middle of the fourth quarter on a short pass across the middle. The Hawgs attempted a two point conversion, but were held out of the end zone by the Grizzlies defense.
Late in the fourth quarter, with the Hawgs driving toward the end zone, when their drive was stopped by Grizzlies linebacker Paul Mathern. With less than a minute to go, Mathern intercepted a pass across the middle on the five yard line.
The Grizzlies then kneeled down twice put pick up their third win on the season.
