Lake Mills baseball team beat St. Ansgar 6-1Saturday in the opening round of a tournament that was eventually cancelled due to rain. The Bulldogs didn’t hit one extra base hit all game but sprayed 11 singles around the field for six runs in the five inning game.
“There were a lot of hits that we strung together,” head coach Jason Blaser said. “It was neat to see that we don’t always have to use extra base hits to score runs.”
That’s promising for the Lake Mills team, who has thrived on power on season.
Starting pitcher Levi Dahle got the win giving up only one earned run and four hits throughout the game. He also led the team offensively, going 3-for-3 with two RBIs.
