An unarmed masked man reportedly robbed the Lakeside Café & Creamery Friday night, taking an undisclosed amount of cash.
According to Albert Lea police, the man entered the building through an unlocked back door at the restaurant, 408 Bridge Ave., at about 7:30 p.m., walked up to the register, pushed an employee that was nearby and then took the money.
The man was described to police as wearing a black nylon mask, a tan sweatshirt with the hood up, and plaid shorts.
No other details are available.
Albert Lea Police Lt. Darren Hanson said at this time police do not believe the robbery is connected to a June 8 robbery at the BP Korner Mart, 901 W. Main St.
During that instance, a 6-foot-tall white man in his 20s sprayed pepper spray at an employee, took the money and then fled the store.
The robbers in both instances have not been found.
