Chrissy Monson dropped almost three seconds off her fastest previous 1600-meter race, finishing in 5 minutes and 5.33 seconds and advanced to the state meet by edging Lakeville South’s Kayla Uphoff by .47 seconds.

Monson will also be competing in the 3,200-meter at the state tournament.

Also placing in finals were Sarah Wenum and Alissa Allison.

Wenum placed fourth in the 800-meter with a time of 2:21.95 and Allison placed seventh in the 200 meter in 27.09.
