I’m an elderly Albert Lea resident and I enjoy reading the Albert Lea Tribune for local news and politics. Recently I read something that disturbed me. I don’t think that 1st Ward City Councilor Vern Rasmussen should be legally able to remain in his city councilor seat and file as a candidate for Albert Lea mayor.

Vern Rasmussen figures if it does not work out as mayor that he will continue his term as 1st Ward city councilor, which is not up for election this year.

I suppose I’m old-fashioned, so I consider this dirty politics.
