Republicans hold fundraising event

The Freeborn County Republican Party along with the Demmer for Congress committee held a fundraising event June 24 at Wedgewood Cove Golf Club. More than 100 people attended this event.
The event was hosted by Al and Pat Arends, Matt and Heather Benda, Paul and Jill Buley, Jerry and Julie Demmer, Pete and Teri Van Erkel, Kent and Sue Erlandson, Brad and Meg Freking, Dav and Marcia Habben, Stan and Skeeter Johnson, Steve and Pennie Ladlie, Paul and Jan Overgaard, Gary and Dawn Pestorious, Henry and Margaret Savelkoul, Tom and Cindy Vavra, and Jerry and Gerry Vogt.
Keynote speaker for the event was Sen. Julie Rosen from Fairmont. The theme for the evening was “Leadership in Greater Minnesota.” Rosen introduced Randy Demmer, candidate for U.S. Congress in the First Congressional Disrict. Demmer is serving his eighth term as state representative from Hayfield.
Also speaking during the evening were: Rich Murray, State House of Representatives candidate for House District 27A; Jason Baskin, campaign chairman for Kathy Green, candidate for State Senate District 27; Jennifer Gumbel; candidate for State House District 27B; and Greg Wersal, candidate for Supreme Court judge.
