Published 9:15 am Monday, June 14, 2010

The Albert Lea Cantori invites community members to join in singing at the Fourth of July Organ Blast Concert at Albert Lea United Methodist Church. The Cantori will be singing two selections for that concert. The first piece is “Armed Forces: The Pride of America” by Greg Gilpin and “Ashoken Farewell” by Jay Unger (theme of Ken Burns’ PBS “The Civil War” series).

The Cantori will be honoring everyone who has served in the Armed Forces by recognizing them during the singing of the “Armed Forces: The Pride of America” song. Members of the Armed Forces are encouraged to wear their uniforms.

There will be two rehearsals for this concert on Monday, June 21, and Monday, June 28, at the United Methodist Church.
