Thanks for all the support at breakfast

I would like to thank all the attendees and volunteers who came to the Humane Society Applebee’s Breakfast. It was a big success, we raised a nice amount of funds to help with our operating costs, and I think we all had a great time.

For those of you who entered our 50/50, I wanted to let you know there were three winners who picked No. 280, which came closest to the number of 281 dog biscuits in the bowl. That was a real fun event and thanks to all who participated.

Please continue to support our fundraising events. Join us at Hy-Vee for our Pet Parade on June 19 from 10 a.m. to noon. You can bring your pet, or come without, just to enjoy the fun. There will be lots of  events and contests including a grand prize raffle of a years worth of pet food donated by Purina. Thanks to Hy-Vee and KATE Radio for sponsoring this event.

Look for us at the Third of July Parade on the KATE Radio float and don’t miss dropping your donations in the buckets carried by our volunteers walking the parade route. Plus I heard a reliable rumor that for a set donation, there will be a pie in the face for someone. Details to follow.

We will also have a table on Saturday mornings at the farmers market starting early in July. We will be selling T-shirts, sweat shirts and the “Ava Finds a Home” book that was originally written for the United Way and distributed at the schools. Stop by and say hello and find out what we are doing to help our furry friends.

We can be reached at Freeborn County Humane Society, P.O. Box 423, Albert Lea MN 56007, Our phone number 507-377-8501. Our website is www.hsffc.org.

The wonderful animals entrusted to our care thank you for your continued support. They are counting on all of us!
