Tornado watch for Winnebago County

The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for Winnebago County in effect from 1:55 p.m. to 10 p.m. Residents of Winnebago County can also expect showers and thunderstorms later today and tonight. Some storms will be severe with large hail, damaging winds and possibly a tornado. Heavy rains may occur with potential for flash flooding as rainfall could be up to one to two inches per hour.

For Winnebago County showers and thunderstorms may continue through Wednesday morning.

The National Weather Service said Freeborn County can expect strong to severe thunderstorms throughout today and tonight. The main threat is flooding and large hail. Heavy rainfall can also lead to isolated flooding. Check our website for more information as the storms are progressing.
