Starting pitcher Tyler Woodside held Fairbaut hitless through a seven inning game Wednesday night as the Albert Lea VFW team beat Faribault 3-0.
“I was excited,” Woodside said. “I was a little nervous on the last hitter, but I felt like I was in control all game and the defense behind me helped.”
The Tigers committed only one error and scattered eight hits around the field in the win. One run would have done just fine for Albert Lea after Woodside’s dominant pitching performance.
“It was just another start, but I had location on my fastball that helped out,” Woodside said. “I used my fastball to get ahead, and then they’d chase the curveball.”
