Alfonsa Tovar, 73

Memorial services for Alfonsa Tovar, 73, of Albert Lea, will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday, July 11, 2010 at the Church of St. Theodore. The Rev. James Berning and Deacon Mike Ellis will officiate. Interment will be at a later date in Mexico.
Alfonsa died Tuesday, July 6, 2010, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Alfonsa Tovar was born on Jan. 23, 1937, to Jesus Tovar and Francisca Orta in Tampico, Tamps, Mexico. She grew up and attended school in Mexico. Alfonsa married Enrique Murillo in Mexico, where she spent most of her life. After her husband died she came to Albert Lea to be closer to her family. She was a member of the Church of St. Theodore. Alfonsa enjoyed scratch game lottery tickets, crossword puzzles and cooking. She always offered a meal to any guest who stopped by. Alfonsa was very hospitable, generous and was a loving mother and grandmother. She was always there to care for her grandchildren with open arms.
Survivors include her three children; five grandchildren; six brothers and sisters; and many nieces and nephews here and back in Mexico.
Alfonsa was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Enrique.
