Colonels pound Minnesota Lake 17-7

The Albert Lea Colonels beat the Minnesota Lake Royals Tuesday, July 20, winning 17-7.
The Royal kept the game close for much of the night, as the Colonels led only 8-7 going into the seventh inning.
Albert Lea picked up five runs in the seventh and four in the eighth as the Royals ran into pitching problems.
Connor Kortan went 5-for-5 with three RBIs to lead the Colonels.
Brandon Klukow, Matt Schumann and Carter Kortan each recorded two hits, going 2-for-4.
Carter got the win after a stellar relief pitching performance. After coming into the ballgame in the third inning, Carter struck out 10 batters and gave up two unearned runs.
