Lake Mills baseball splits double-header

Lake Mills scored six runs in the fourth inning and slugged out eight hits to defeat West Hancock 9-4 Wednesday in Lake Mills.
Levi Dahle earned the win as he went five innings and recorded seven strikeouts for the Bulldogs.
Jake Christensen took the loss for West Hancock.
At the plate, Chris Throne went 1-for-2 with a double and two RBI.
Jaimyan DaVeiga went 3-for-3 with an RBI and Tyler Rice went 1-for-3 with two RBI.
“I thought we did what we needed to do.” Lake Mills baseball coach Jason Blaser said.

Game Two
St. Ansgar scored four runs in the sixth and took advantage of four errors by the Bulldogs to defeat the Lake Mills baseball team 5-4 Wednesday in Lake Mills.
Kevin McCann earned the win for the Saints.
McCann went all seven innings and struckout 11.
Alex Grunhovd took the loss for Lake Mills.
Grunhovd went 5 2/3 innings, walked seven and struck-out six.
Chris Throne led the Bulldogs at the plate as he went 3-for-4 with a three run home run in the seventh.
Royce Byrnes, Drey LyBarger, Levi Dahle and Jaimyan DaVeiga all recorded hits for Lake Mills.
“Tonight we faced a tough left-hander,” Blaser said. “I was disappointed we didn’t play better defensively.”
Lake Mills concluded the regular season with a 21-6 record overall, while they went 11-3 in the North Iowa Conference.
The Bulldogs open the playoffs on Saturday against Central Springs in Manly.
