Lane Lee

Lane Conway Lee, 85, died on Oct. 4, 2009, in Tempe, Ariz., after a long illness with bladder cancer.
Funeral services for Lane will be held at First Lutheran Church in Albert Lea, Wednesday at 11 a.m. The Rev. Dan Baker will officiate. Interment will be at Concordia Bear Lake Lutheran Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded by Albert Lea Veteran’s Associations. Visitation will be held at the church one hour before the service.
Lane was born on Feb. 26, 1924, to Andrew and Gilma (Sybilrud) Lee in Ellendale. Prior to World War II, Lane delivered mail in the area of rural Ellendale. During World War II, Lane volunteered for the U.S. Navy, and saw combat aboard the U.S.S Columbia (light cruiser) in the South Pacific, earning 9 battle stars.
Lane married Delores Fink, on March 13, 1949, at Bear Lake Lutheran Church. Lane and Delores had 49 years of marriage before her death in 1998. Lane and Delores lived and raised a family in Albert Lea. Lane worked for Western Grocers, Wilsons and Farmstead, before retiring. Lane and Delores also owned and managed rental properties in Albert Lea.
For the past 25 years, Lane and Delores had a second home in Tempe, Ariz., and enjoyed spending time there with their children and grandchildren. Lane will be remembered for his industrious and generous spirit, and love of his family.
Survivors include his children: Kate Uhrhammer, David Lee, Carol (George) Harris, Brian (Dina) Lee, Thomas (Pat) Lee, Janet (Jerome) Wohleb, and Randy (Lise-Anne) Lee; grandchildren: Michael and Matthew Harris; Michelle Mossbarger; Abraham, Alex, Ryan and Nathan Lee; Austin and Aaron Wohleb; and great-grandchild, Kyden Mossbarger.
Lane was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Delores; and brother, Adrian S. Lee Sr.
