Lois Patterson

Lois Ann Patterson, 62, of Northwood, Iowa, died July 21, 2010, at Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City, Iowa. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday at First Lutheran Church in Northwood with the Rev. Wendi Gillan officiating. Burial will be in State Line Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home, Hwy 65 S. in Northwood.
Lois Ann Patterson was born in Albert Lea on April 16, 1948, to Lawrence and Evalyn (Barber) Arrett. She graduated from Northwood-Kensett High School in 1966, and attended Hennepin County General Hospital College of X-ray technology in 1968. She married Richard Ivan Patterson on Feb. 14, 1969. They had three daughters: Darci Kaye Sanderson, Robyn Ann Wilder and Valerie Renee Anderson. She worked as an X-ray technician for several years before working 23 years for FedEx. FedEx was her passion, she loved the company and made many friends through the years, while delivering on her route.
She retired from FedEx in 2007 and pursued her Iowa real estate license. She worked for Schoneman GMAC Real Estate and then later Edwards Brandt Iowa Realty. Lois was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, classic car cruises, camping, traveling and especially her trip to Hawaii with their special friends Monte and Vicki Swanson. Lois was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2007 and lost her long battle. She will truly be missed by her family and friends.
Lois is survived by her husband, Richard Patterson; daughters Darci (Patterson) Sanderson, Robyn (Patterson) Wilder, and Valerie (Patterson) Anderson; siblings Karen (Arett) Hove, Donald Arrett, and James Arrett; grandchildren Nicole Sanderson, Brianna Sanderson, Derek Sanderson, Jacob Sanderson, Nathan Wilder, Drew Wilder, Briar Anderson and Peyton Wilder; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Evalyn Arrett; brother, Robert Arrett, and nephew, Todd Hove.
