Thomas Eugene Vaale, 26, no address listed, was arrested about 10:40 a.m. Thursday by a Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office detective at an address on East Hawthorne Street.

Vaale was reportedly charged for an attempted burglary allegedly committed on July 20 at a residence in the area where two young females were at home alone. Nothing was listed as taken.

The sheriff’s report said Vaale is also a suspect in two burglaries in Worth County, Iowa, and the investigation of those incidents is continuing.

Vaale is expected to be in Freeborn County District Court today on a charge of first degree burglary.

He is also one of a few people involved in a string of burglaries in 2006 and has done prison time for those offenses.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, it appears Vaale was released in 2009.
