MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — A federal judge sentenced an Austin man dubbed a “menace to the community” to 20 years for distributing large amounts of meth in southern Minnesota.
Jason Lee Reinartz was sentenced Thursday in Minneapolis after pleading guilty to conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute 500 or more grams of the drug.
The Star Tribune reports Drug Enforcement Administration agent Dan Moren said after the sentencing that Reinartz “distinguished himself as a menace to the community.”
Reinartz was indicted in December 2008 and pleaded guilty in February 2009. The 36-year-old has previous drug convictions from 1995 through 2000.
According to the plea agreement, Reinartz admitted obtaining 2 pounds of methamphetamine in the summer of 2008, then he and his girlfriend distributed it.
