Motorists can expect single-lane traffic on Minnesota Highway 13 between Interstate 90 and Highway 30 when crews begin resurfacing the road on Monday, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
Highway 13 is a two-lane road. The stretch being worked on connects Albert Lea to New Richland. Flaggers will control traffic throughout the project, which is scheduled to continue through October, weather permitting.
When the project is complete, motorists will experience a smoother ride surface and a safer highway.
Ulland Brothers Inc. is the prime contractor for the $4 million project.
MnDOT urges motorists to always drive with caution, slow down in work zones and never enter a roadway that has been blocked with barriers or cones.
