Legion Club ready to host Legacy Ride

As the manager of the American Legion Club in Albert Lea, I have seen many things in which to be proud of. But this Tuesday, Aug. 24, might be our greatest moment as the American Legion. The Legacy Ride, a group of American Legion members from all over the United States and Canada, will be riding their motorcycles into Albert Lea. Our post was the only post chosen in the state of Minnesota for this honor. As of last count, over 400 riders have registered for the ride. The purpose of the ride is to provide scholarships to children of soldiers who have lost their lives since 9/11. So I am inviting Albert Lea and Freeborn County to do what they do best; show up and help support this great cause. The pork chop feed starts at 5 p.m., the Community Band starts at 5:30 p.m. The riders will arrive around 6:30 p.m. Help us in welcoming them by lining the streets from Bridge Avenue to Washington Avenue along Fountain Street. Thanks in advance Albert Lea and Freeborn County. I know you will do us proud.
