Paul Ylvisaker, 77, Albert Lea

Funeral services for Paul Bernard Ylvisaker, age 77, of Albert Lea will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Manchester Evangelical Lutheran Church. The Rev. Dennis Schmidt will officiate. Paul passed away Sunday, Aug. 8, 2010, at the Good Samaritan Center.
Paul Bernard Ylvisaker was born on March 4, 1933, in Winnebago County, Iowa, the son of the Rev. Paul and Bergitte (Broin) Ylvisaker. He was baptized by the Rev. Ylvisaker at Thompson Synod Lutheran Church in Thompson, Iowa, and confirmed at Hartland Synod Lutheran Church, Hartland, with Rev. Ylvisaker officiating. Paul attended elementary school in Albert Lea and Hartland, graduating from Bethany High School and Junior College, Mankato, and the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis. Paul was employed by USX Great Lakes Fleet out of Duluth, (US Steel) for 39 years until his retirement in 1998. Paul was a faithful member of Manchester Lutheran Church for many years.
Survivors include his brother and sister-in-law, Luther (Margaret) Ylvisaker; sister, Marguerite Ylvisaker, all of Albert Lea; nieces and nephews, Scott (Lynn) Ylvisaker and daughter, Mark Ylvisaker, Kristine (Pat) Malone and children, and Karol (Kevin) Gluth.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents.
