Steven K. Lunstrum, 63, of Nevis, died on Sunday, Aug. 1, 2010, at his residence.
He was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. He grew up and went to school and graduated from high school in Albert Lea. He went on to attend the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, graduated with a degree in English. In 1980 he moved to Nevis with his family. He worked as a human services tech at Ah-Gwah-Ching State N.H. in Walker for 30 years. He loved time on the water, fishing and boating. He enjoyed model boats and motors, he also collected western memorabilia.
He was a past member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Nevis and a current member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Park Rapids.
He is survived by his daughters; Dr. Maja Lunstrum-Rudolph of Aurora, Colo., and Britta L. Lunstrum of Ithaca, N.Y.; stepson, Jayson Knutson of Bemidji; three grandchildren: Sydney, Jordan, and Christopher; three nieces; aunts, uncles and nephews; and two former spouses: Maja Lunstrum and Janett Knutson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Shirley Belshaun; brother, Forrest H. Lunstrum; and a son-in-law, Christopher Rudolph.
Memorial services will be held on Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Calvary Lutheran Church in Park Rapids. The Rev. Steve Norby will be the officiant. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church.
