The Freemond Madson Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary to Post 447 met Monday, Aug. 9, at 7 p.m. at the American Legion Hall with President Eunice Hatleli presiding.

After reports and correspondences were read and acted on, we held draping of the charter for our deceased member sisters Gudelia (Judy) Gasca and Frances (Murph) Donavan. Bless their memory.

President Eunice and Post District President Betty Jones had attended the First District organizational meeting at Cannon Falls on Aug. 7 and brought back citations and awards that had been awarded at the department convention. We received citations of merit for our donations and work for: Minnesota Soldiers and Scholarship Program, Marcella Arnold Nursing Scholarship Program, Veterans and Family Support Program, Community service “Mentoring a Child” award to President Eunice, and 100 percent community service reporting.
