Alumni recital on Oct. 9

The Albert Lea High School Alumni Recital is taking shape for Saturday, Oct. 9, which is Homecoming weekend. Any ALHS alumni who would like to participate are encouraged to contact Diane Heaney as soon as possible. There are several solo singers who have stepped forward and more are encouraged to join the cast. The act can be anything musical or dramatic. The show will be almost like an autumn Tiger’s Roar with former students.
In addition, a group choir experience will also be included. Heaney will provide music and a learning CD. The choir group will gather on Saturday, Oct. 9, at 2 p.m. for a rehearsal and sing for the evening show. All other acts will also have a run-through rehearsal in the afternoon to take care of technical needs and get used to the hall.
The alumni recital is a fundraising event for the choir trip to England and Scotland in June of 2011. Tickets will be available at the door and all proceeds will go to the traveling students.
In order for the event to be a success, Heaney needs to hear from alumni soon. Contact her at school at 379-5386 or via e-mail at dheaney@albertlea.k12.mn.us to secure a place in the show or to request music and a learning CD. An impressive listing of performers will be announced soon.
