A grand opening for the Community Boathouse will be held Saturday, Sept. 25, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. At 10 a.m. Gary Hoffman, an Albert Lea native, will speak about his experience canoeing the entire Mississippi River with his son. He will also talk about the book he wrote on his adventure “Mighty Miss: A Mississippi River Experience.”

From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. there will be free canoeing and kayaking available for everyone compliments of all the donors for this project. Anyone is welcome to come to the event.
