First Lutheran Church Women

First Lutheran Church Women met Sept. 9 in Bethany Hall.
Prelude music was provided by Joan Holt.
Past President Karen Mandsager welcomed everyone.
Devotions were given by Hazel Senske.
Everyone recited the purpose statement.
Mandsager introduced the program by Dorothy Kasik and Ann Aalgaard, “Actions Mightier Than Boostings.” They wrote a book which was for sale after the program.
Kasik sang a solo, “Father Lift Me Up.”
The following business meeting was held.
The secretary’s report will be placed on file.
The treasurer’s report will be placed on file for audit.
Lots Jensen reported receiving the following thank yous:
- Red Cross for the donation
- United Way for the donation
- Deb Koenigs
Lois Jensen reported receiving the following newsletters:
- Youth for Christ
- River Crossings
They will be placed in our library.
Jinni Olson conducted the business meeting.
Olson reported that the council was thrilled with our generous contribution to the Peace & POWER UP-grade.
They met Sept. 22 in Bethany Hall to cut and sew fabric to make more school kit bags.
Offering was taken during the singing of “Holy, Holy, Holy.” Nancy Jenson gave the offering prayer.
Thank you’s were given as follows:
Greeters: Neva Mathison, Karen Mandsager, Ione Kelly and Cathy Carter.
Ushers: Diane Damerow and Gen Montei.
Wheelchair attendants: Virginia Hermanson and Jan Overgaard.
Hostesses: Chair person Both Dlyle and her committee Barbara Anderson, Lavina Fellner, Bemadine Gregerson, Marcia Habben, Eunice Hatleli, Judy Kropp, Helen Lovik and Marilyn Moe.
Caring & Sharing: Co-chairpersons Helen Lovik and Arlis Smith and their committee served two funerals in August.
Lutheran World Relief Van is Oct. 9 from 7:30 a.m. to noon. World Community Day at United Methodist is Nov. 5.
