No. 1 Waterville-Elysian-Morristown (4-0) at New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva (4-0), 7 p.m.
The Panthers will face their toughest test of the season on Friday night when they host No. 1 ranked Waterville-Elysian-Morristown.
The Buccaneers are the defending state champions and return a majority of their key players from last season.
The W-E-M offense has averaged 40 points per game this season while their defense has surrendered only 10 points per game.
The Panthers have used solid quarterback play from junior Sam Lundberg to help propel the offense.
Along with Lundberg, running-back Geoff Ramaker has been a huge lift to the offense along with wide receivers Chad Schlaak and David Lassahn.
The Panthers offense has averaged 16 points per game, while the defense has surrendered 14 points per game this season.
Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial (1-4) at United South Central (2-2), 7 p.m.
After starting the year 0-2, USC coach Brad Huse and the Rebels have seemed to have gotten back on their game.
With a resurgent offense and an aggressive defense, USC has won two straight games to run their record to 2-2.
On offense, the quarterback tandem of Eric Lackey and Cole Stenzel gives the Rebels plenty of options, while the running attack, led by Tyson Morton, has also had success the past two games.
USC scored only 15 points in their first two games this season, while in the last two games the Rebels have averaged 23 points per game.
While the offense has recently started to take off, the Rebels defense has been creating a lot of head aches for opposing offenses.
Opposing offenses have averaged only nine points per game this season on the USC defense.
Spring Grove (4-0) at Glenville-Emmons (2-2), 7 p.m.
After a loss to Lanesboro last week, Glenville-Emmons will look to rebound this week as they host undefeated Spring Grove.
The Wolverines had a two-game winning streak snapped at Lanesboro and will look to make a statement on Friday night.
The Wolverines offense, led by quarterback Zack Williamson, has averaged 25 points a game and have done so using a balanced offensive attack.
While the offense has impressed, the defense has been equally impressive.
The Glenville-Emmons defense has given up an average of 19 points per game this season.
Spring Grove over the first four games has averaged an astounding 31 points per game.
Granada-Huntley- East Chain/ML (0-4) at Alden-Conger (0-4), 7 p.m.
Alden-Conger will look to record their first win of the season on Friday night as they host Granada-Huntley- East Chain/ML.
Both teams enter Friday’s contest with an 0-4 record.
The Knights have struggled all season as the offense has scored a total of 32 points over a four game stretch, while the A-C defense has given up 200 points over the first four games.
Like the Knights, the Mustangs have also struggled on both sides of the ball early on.
The GHEC/ML offense has scored 25 points through the first four games of the season, while the Mustang defense has given up 134 total points this season.
Lake Mills (2-3) at Saint Ansgar (3-2), 7 p.m.
After being thrashed by Dike-New Hartford 41-18 last Friday, Lake Mills football coach Bill Byrnes and company will look to get back on the winning side of things Friday at Saint Ansgar.
Dike-New Hartford rushed for 294 yards as a team and had five touchdowns.
Royce Byrnes had a touchdown pass for Lake Mills, Byrnes and Rice also had rushing touchdowns as well.
For Saint Ansgar, they come into the contest with two straight wins and have scored over 40 points in the last two games.
In their last game against AGWSR, the Saints rushed for 477 yards and six touchdowns.
West Hancock (3-2) at Northwood-Kensett (0-5), 7 p.m.
Northwood-Kensett will look to get its first win of the season on Friday night as they host the West Hancock Eagles.
The Vikings have faceed a tough schedule thus far and won’t get any easier with the Eagles.
N-K comes into the contest having averaged 11 points a game, while the defense has given up 22 points a game.
The Viking offense is lead by senior quarterback Spencer Capitani.
Capitani has 577 yards rushing on the season with two touchdowns and has also thrown for 130 yards.
The Eagles offense comes into the game averaging 32 points a game, while opposing offenses have scored an average of 14 points against the West Hancock defense.
