NEW RICHLAND —The New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva volleyball team lost a 5-game match to Waterville-Elysian-Morristown Tuesday.
The Panthers fell 25-16, 25-27, 25-22, 22-25, 6-15, in what NRHEG head coach Joe Kuechenmeister called a sloppy game.
“We didn’t play our best,” the first-year head coach said. “It was a good test early in the season to play a scrappy team like W-E-M. We didn’t respond and it was a good reality check.”
Anna Schlaak led the Panthers with 19 kills, 18 digs and seven ace blocks.
Kacie Phillips had 41 set assists, Kaylee Maxon had 17 kills and Harlee Vokoun had 13 digs.
The Panthers play again 7 p.m. Thursday when they host Blooming Prairie.
