Theresa Sorenson, 74, Clarks Grove

Memorial services for Theresa Carol Sorenson, 74, of Clarks Grove will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Geneva Community Lutheran Church. The Rev. Carrie McElfresh will officiate. Interment will be at the East Freeborn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church. Theresa Sorenson

Theresa died Thursday, Sept. 23, 2010, at the Good Samaritan Society after a year-long battle with pancreatic cancer.

Theresa Carol Sorenson was born on Sept. 26, 1935, to Omar and Sophie (Jacobson) Otterson in Albert Lea. She grew up in the Ellendale area and attended rural schools. Theresa was confirmed at First Lutheran Church in Ellendale. On Oct. 26, 1953, she was united in marriage to Marlys Sorenson in New Richland. Theresa worked at Land O’ Lakes for 13 years and worked as a product demonstrator for several companies for 20 years. She was a member of Community Lutheran Church in Geneva. Theresa was also a member of the Stateline Polka Club. She enjoyed dancing, sewing, craftwork, making dolls, traveling, fishing and camping. Theresa loved spending time with family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She always took time to help others and enjoyed it. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her husband, Marlys; children: Kathy (Milt) Solomonson, Karen Olson, Kay Sorenson (Loren Sames) and Keith Sorenson; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers: Ray Otterson, Lloyd (Charlene) Otterson, Rolf (Marlene) Otterson, Clifford (Margaret) Otterson, Dorain Otterson and Odean (Margie) Otterson; sister-in-law, Ardene Otterson; and many nieces and nephews.

Theresa was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Eugene Otterson; sisters-in-law: Bernice Otterson and Lana Otterson; and great-granddaughter, Myah Sorenson.
