Vikings fall to Rockford 13-7

NORTHWOOD, Iowa — Northwood-Kensett (0-2) looked for its first win of the season on Friday as it hosted Rockford.

Rockford rushed for 254 total yards and Scott Paulus accounted for 128 of them, as Rockford defeated the Vikings 13-7.

In what was a low scoring game, it was the Rockford defense that came through.

Rockford held the Vikings to 71 total rushing yards during the game.

Rockford scored twice in the first half, both on Paulus one-yard touchdown runs and took a 13-0 lead into halftime.

Northwood-Kensett got on the board in the third quarter when Dylan Nitcher scored on a two-yard run that cut the lead to 13-7.

Jacob McGrane led the Viking defense with 14 tackles, while Hayden Olson had 10.

Northwood-Kensett is back in action next Friday at Everly.
