Catch more baseball later this month

I read with interest your “thumbs up” of Ken Burns’ documentary “Baseball: The Tenth Inning” in the Oct. 3 Tribune. I also watched the series and found it to be another outstanding effort on Burns’ part.
For those who may have missed it, our local public broadcasting outlet, KSMQ, will rebroadcast the four hour special on Nov. 21. I would encourage all sports fans, most especially baseball fans, to watch this program. However, even if you aren’t a sports fan, the commentary on the last decade of the last century and the first part of this century is well worth an investment of your time.
Another special series is coming to KSMQ. “God In America” which explores the 400-year history of the intersection of religion and public life in America, from the first European settlements to the 2008 presidential election can be seen 7-9 p.m. Oct. 19, 20 and 21. It will also repeat each night from 9 to 11 p.m. The entire series will air again Oct. 24 from 1 to 7 p.m.
This series will appeal not only to those who know that in America religion matters but also to those who wish it didn’t matter so much. This outstanding series is a joint production of PBS’s “American Experience” and “Frontline.”
I encourage everyone to visit KSMQ’s website for more information.
