Though Halloween and Thanksgiving are still around the corner, the members of the Naeve Hospital Auxiliary have Christmas on their minds.

The auxiliary will be holding its third annual holiday boutique Oct. 28-30 in the gift shop at Albert Lea Medical Center. The hours are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

The group has been brainstorming ideas since January and are excited for the public to see all the merchandise they have for sale during the boutique.

The boutique will again offer holiday snacks like soups, cheese balls, dip mix and candy. There will be fully-decorated Christmas trees and lots of winter-themed items as well. The group tried to find all kinds of decorative items for people with different tastes.

Other items for sale will include jewelry, hats, mittens, scarves, ornaments, holiday cards and many other holiday-themed gifts and accessories. Each day of the three-day event there will be new items in the gift shop.

Also, there will be a prize drawing each day. All funds raised by the auxiliary go to fund items on the Albert Lea Medical Center’s wish list.

Auxiliary members come from different churches and different communities. They work in pairs in both the gift and coffee shops.

In addition to those two areas, auxiliary members volunteer in the Albert Lea Cancer Center, distribute donated magazines throughout the clinic, give tours to first-graders, make comfort blankets and hand-knit caps for babies, and donate combs and brushes for newborns and plush toys for children in same-day surgery.
