Ladies Aid

Our Savior’s Ladies Aid met in Luther Hall on Sept. 9. Hostess was Sandy Pieper and assisted by Kathy Halvorson. President Maren Ring welcomed everyone. The Rev. Wayne Halvorson conducted devotion continuing with the study of hymns. He told how the children’s hymn “Jesus Loves Me This I Know” came to be written. The members joined in singing this hymn and closed with the Lord’s prayer.
President Ring opened the business meeting and thanked all who served Sunday afternoon coffee at St. John’s Lutheran Home on Aug. 15, including those who furnished pie and desserts.
The secretary and treasurer reports were read and approved. Thank you letters were received from St. John’s Lutheran Home for serving Sunday coffee and from Danielle Efraimson for being remembered by the Ladies Aid.
A motion was made and carried to turn over all money received from attic treasure sales at the fall bazaar to the Bible fund.
Mission Sunday will be held at 10 a.m. on Oct. 10. Tim Erickson, missionary in Chile, and one of Our Savior’s former vicars will be the speaker. A motion was made and carried to serve a pot luck meal immediately following the service.
It was announced that the Bethany Women’s Auxiliary will be held in Mankato on Monday, Sept. 27.
Lots Baker thanked the Rebecca’s Sewing Circle for donating 20 flannel receiving blankets which will be given to a hospital in Bemidji for babies in need. Baker will be delivering these to the hospital together with the ones she has personally made.
The meeting was adjourned followed by the table prayer.
