Advances to championship

Amanda Lampman had 15 digs and eight kills Friday and the No. 6 Lake Mills Bulldogs (42-1) volleyball team beat South Winneshiek 25-14, 25-17 and 25-14 in the Class 2A Region 6 semifinals.

The Bulldogs served 94 1/2 percent as a team and had 39 kills en route to a spot against Sumner-Fredericksburg in the regional championship Tuesday in Clear Lake, Iowa.

Josie Brackey led the Bulldogs in kills with 12. She also had three aces on 15-for-17 serving for 20 points.

Haley Mathews was stellar for the service line, going 20-for-20 with a team-high three aces.

Morgan Fjelstad, North Iowa Conference Player of the Year, had 33 ace assists and chipped in two kills and four digs.

The Lake Mills-Sumner-Fredericksburg championship game starts at 7 p.m.
