Northwood-Kensett powers past West Hancock

The Northwood-Kensett football team welcomed West Hancock to Northwood Friday night as the Vikings looked for their first win of the season on homecoming night.

Spencer Capitani felt right at home as he rushed for 254 yards and had two touchdowns at Northwood-Kensett rolled past West Hancock 30-19.

After trailing at half-time 19-7, the Vikings scored 23 points in the second half to secure the win.

Dylan Nitcher and Capitani accounted for all four Northwood-Kensett’s touchdowns as both had two touchdowns a piece.

The Vikings offense rushed for 365 yards on the ground.

Spencer Capitani led the Northwood-Kensett offense with 26 carries for 254 yards rushing, while he went 2-for-3 for 27 yards through the air.

Tanner Haberman was the leading receiver for the Vikings with 22 yards.

Shayne Olson led the Northwood-Kensett defense with nine tackles.

The Vikings will look to add to the win column next Friday as they travel to Buffalo Center to take on North Iowa.
