With the Halloween holiday approaching, the Freeborn County Humane Society is highlighting several of its four-legged furry orange cats that are up for adoption.
Dee Amberg, vice president of the local Humane Society, said there are four orange kittens that will be ready to be adopted soon, and there are at least three orange adult cats.
All of the adult cats are spayed or neutered.
Amberg encouraged people to call or come down to the Humane Society, 101 James Ave., to check them out. Adoption fees are $85 for cats, which includes spaying and neutering and being up-to-date on shots.
The following are descriptions of each of the adult orange cats:
Leo
Amberg said Leo was recently brought into the Humane Society after he was found wandering around an apartment building in Albert Lea.
He was very skinny and is being brought back up to health.
Amberg estimated the long-haired cat is 4 or 5 years old and said he gets along well with other cats.
Mufasa
Mufasa, 5, came in to the Humane Society as a stray with several scratches and bites. “They’re all just really friendly, wonderful cats,” Amberg said.
Francis
Francis, named after St. Francis of Assisi, the guardian of all animals and pets, had his tail caught in the fan belt of a vehicle.
Amberg estimated the long-haired orange cat is 1 or 2 years old.
