Owner of Freeborn Lumber named to Northwestern Lumber Board

John Miller, owner of Freeborn Lumber in Albert Lea, was recently elected to the Board of Directors of the Northwestern Lumber Association. Miller is approaching four decades in the lumber and building materials business, and this experience will be a tremendous asset to the association. In addition to his business, Miller is active in the community. He is a deacon at the United Church of Christ and is president of the board of Bayview Funeral Home. Miller and his wife, Cindy, have two adult daughters.
The Northwestern Lumber Association is a trade organization headquartered in Minneapolis which represents 640 independent lumber and building material retailers and their suppliers in Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota and South Dakota, to which Wisconsin will be added Jan. 1, 2011. The association represents the lumber and building material industry in the legislature at both the state and federal level. The organization also provides its members with life, disability, property and casualty insurance; educational programs; group-buying discounts and the opportunity for increased communication and social contact for members through its three annual conventions. The Northwestern Lumber Association has been serving the lumber and building material industry in the public interest since 1890.
