After a sweep of Alden-Conger on Monday, the United South Central volleyball team looked to make it two wins in a row on Thursday night as they traveled to Blooming Prairie to take on the Awesome Blossoms.
The Rebels defeated Blooming Prairie 3-0 (25-16, 25-15, 25-14).
“We had only one serving error the whole night,” USC head coach Jolene Bute said. ” We did a much better job of staying home and playing our positions.”
The frontline for USC had a big night as Danielle Koestler had 11 kills to lead the Rebels.
Allie Voigt had six kills with six blocks and Val Sahr had six kills with four blocks for USC.
Marielle Schultz led the Rebels with 17 set assists, while Katie Ovrebo had 17 set assists for USC.
Tayla Sunde also finished with 18 digs on the night.
Bute says she was proud of her team for coming together and playing a great game without outside hitter Kayla Stenzel, who is currently out with an injury.
“The thing was everyone stepped up to the line with Kayla Stenzel out tonight and did their job and took care of that,” Bute said. “I’m very proud of the girls for doing that.”
The Rebels are back in action on Tuesday as they travel to Mankato Loyola.
