Vote for the GOP candidates

Published 9:42 am Friday, October 29, 2010

Hopefully, the American voter (the legal voters) have read, listened, conversed, studied and educated themselves on the policies of the candidates.

Perhaps, you have decided the “change” has been good and you want more of the same, moving toward the European style of government such as France, Italy, Spain, U.K. and Portugal. However, you may have decided over the last few years that the United States Constitution and our style of government, a republic, are what we should preserve for the future.

The $13 trillion of debt that China, Japan and U.K. hold are heaped on the heals of our children, grandchildren and generations thereafter. They will be paying these debts for years to come. The cap-and-trade taxes, the pork that is usually not reported or noticed, the new government health care, the dependence on oil, the new $5 trillion budget, plus more will be added to the debt.

When Robin Brown, state representative, walked toward me where I was outside and watering my flowers, she stopped. She handed me a brochure and turned to walk back to her car. I then stopped her and told her I had some questions on the upcoming election and would she answer them. I asked about the outlandish spending with no regard to where the money might be coming, Obama health care, loss of jobs, immigration and closing the borders, and cap-and-trade taxes. She only had a few words to offer and wanted to know my name.

What a difference between her and her opponent, Rich Murray. He listens, converses, is eager to explain his policies, answers questions, and shares the issues in which he deeply believes and would like to see implemented in Minnesota.

One last issue to think about is the importance of the judges we elect. Elect is the word. Some would like to have judges appointed and not elected by the people at the ballot box. All judges should be held accountable to the people protecting the family, nonpartisan, have a thorough and clear knowledge of the constitution and abide by it. Vote for these excellent candidates: Greg Wersal, Supreme Court; Tim Tingelstad, Supreme Court; Dan Griffith, Appellate Court.

This is a critical time — more so than any other time in our history. What style of government do you want to leave your children? The one we have been moving toward in the last few years? Or preserving our U.S. Constitution and republic as our founders wrote it? Liberal or conservative? Socialism or our republic?

Vote for Tom Emmer, Randy Demmer, Kathy Green, and our own Rich Murray!
