Williamson touchdown leads Glenville-Emmons past Houston

HOUSTON- Glenville-Emmons quarterback Zack Williamson scored the go ahead touchdown with one second left in the game as the fifth seeded Glenville-Emmons Wolverines eliminated the fourth seeded Houston Hurricanes from the Section 1A playoffs with a 20-14 win Tuesday in Houston.
“It was an unbelievable game,” GE coach Ryan Kelly said. “Without a doubt this was our best defensive effort of the year, and we were able to make just enough plays offensively to put points on the board at the right time.”
After Glenville-Emmons turned the ball over on their first drive, Houston scored a touchdown on the next play to take a 7-0 lead.
The scored stayed that way until the third quarter.
With 11 seconds left in the third quarter, Wolverines quarterback Zack Williamson found Pete Hansen in the endzone for a touchdown.
In the fourth quarter, Glenville-Emmons extended the lead with a Derek Olson touchdown to go up 14-7.
Houston responded minutes later with a touchdown pass to tie the game at 14 a piece.
Then with :01 second left, Williamson found the endzone to give the Wolverines a 20-14 win.
Glenville-Emmons moves on to play the No.1 seeded Grand Meadow Superlarks on Saturday in Grand Meadow at 7 p.m.
