Wintergreen Natural Foods Board of Directors met Tuesday, Oct. 3. All of the board members and the two coordinators were present. No secretary’s report was available for this meeting. The treasurer’s report was given and approved.

The coordinators reported that the cash register had to be replaced and that a used one similar to the previous one was purchased from the Cash Register Co. in Mankato.

Advertising was discussed. Word of mouth has been the group’s best advertising, but other options will be explored. It was suggested that a sign close to the highway would be helpful. There is a possibility of having the group’s name on the electric sign near the end of the Seed House driveway if it isn’t too costly.

After checking with United Methodist Church, the Wintergreen annual meeting is scheduled to be held on Tuesday, Nov. 9, in the Social Hall. There will be a pot luck supper at 6 p.m. with a business meeting following at seven.

It was decided to hold Wintergreen’s 35th anniversary of being in business at the end of October. There will be a two-day open house on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 29 and 30, with free samples and specials, as well as a drawing.
